According to reports, the United States has decided to postpone the tariff increase date for some finished wooden products, including upholstered chairs, kitchen cabinets, and bathroom cabinets, from January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2027.

The U.S. side said that adjusting the timing of the tariff increase is intended to create room for trade negotiations and ensure supply chain stability. Under Section 232, wood products imported into the United States are still subject to tariffs, and this policy is entirely independent of any judicial rulings related to reciprocal tariff orders under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
