In a notice, the U.S. Department of Commerce said it will launch the annual administrative review on March 9, 2026, of the existing anti-dumping and countervailing measures on major imported timber products, and plans to release the final results by January 31, 2027.
This review covers Canadian softwood lumber during the period from January 1. to December 31, 2025, subject to antidumping order A-122-857 and countervailing duty order C-122-858. It also covers certain hardwood plywood products from China subject to antidumping order A-570-051 during the same period, as well as wooden bedroom furniture from China subject to antidumping order A-570-890.

The Department of Commerce stated that it may limit the number of companies under review and select responding companies by using U.S. import data or quantity and value questionnaires. It plans to place the relevant data or questionnaire records on file within 5. days after the initiation notice is issued, and to make responding-company selection decisions within 35 days after publication.
For the review of Chinese wooden bedroom furniture, the Department of Commerce made clear that quantity and value responses and supplemental questions must be submitted within 21 days after publication of the notice, while separate-rate certifications or applications must be submitted within 14 days after publication.
The United States is the largest export market for China's wooden furniture, accounting for 27% of China's total wooden furniture exports. In 2025, China's exports of wooden furniture to the United States fell 7.1% to 129.4. million pieces, export value fell 20% to 5.6. billion U.S. dollars, and the average unit price fell 14% to 43 U.S. dollars per piece.
The United States has launched its annual antidumping and countervailing review of timber imports, covering key timber categories from China and Canada, which will have a direct impact on related exporting enterprises.
