Nankang's Water-Based Coating Transition Recognized as a National Model
At a forum during the 57th China International Furniture Fair in Guangzhou, the green transformation case of Nankang furniture's shift from oil-based coating to water-based coating was selected for inclusion in the 2026 China Furniture Environmental Coating Upgrade White Paper. The case is now being recognized as a benchmark for green upgrading in traditional manufacturing.
Why the Case Matters
The white paper is presented as the only continuously published authoritative report focused on environmental coating upgrades in China's furniture industry. Nankang's case was highlighted because of its systematic approach, strong implementation logic, and replicable value.
Core Transformation Measures
In recent years, Nankang District has promoted this transition through government guidance, policy support, technical innovation, standards, and intelligent supervision. The goal has been to build a full-chain green transformation system and reduce the pollution and energy pressure of traditional furniture manufacturing.
Current Results
More than 97 percent of local furniture spraying enterprises have reportedly chosen water-based substitution at the source, helping the region develop stable production and strengthen the competitiveness of green furniture products.
Outlook
The Nankang example shows how environmental upgrading can become a practical industrial strategy rather than a symbolic policy move, and it offers a model that other manufacturing regions may study and adapt.
