What is the ERP project implementation process? What are the steps? Nowadays, many enterprises use ERP management software to facilitate management in all aspects. In view of the current frenzied market situation and competitive landscape of the ERP industry, when enterprises implement ERP projects, they must understand the ERP project implementation process, follow a reasonable line of thinking, and make rational and pragmatic selection decisions. So what is the ERP project implementation process?
ERP project implementation process:
1. Initial investigation The main purpose is to enable the implementation consultants of the ERP software provider to gain a preliminary understanding of the business processes of each department of the enterprise, collect all documents involved in the business flows of each department, understand the views of personnel in each department, and learn their understanding and expectations of ERP, so as to formulate a work plan.

2. System training The main purpose is to let all enterprise personnel understand what ERP is and what benefits applying ERP systems can bring to the enterprise, as well as to provide functional training for each ERP software subsystem. 3. Process formulation The main purpose is for implementation consultants, based on their understanding of the enterprise and the accumulated experience of themselves or their company in the enterprise's industry, to formulate a business process that meets enterprise needs and can be reasonably reflected in the system. This is a very important stage. Whether enterprise management can be improved through ERP from this point forward and whether processes can become more complete depends on this process formulation. 4. Coding principles The main purpose is for the enterprise, under the guidance of implementation consultants, to formulate the basic principles for applying ERP, including material coding principles, supplier and customer coding principles, and the hierarchical establishment of product structures including BOM levels. 5. Data collection The main purpose is for enterprise personnel, after becoming familiar with various coding principles, to collect the basic data required for enterprise ERP application and management, including material data, supplier data, customer data, department data, personnel data, and so on. 6. Process testing The main purpose is for enterprise personnel to test the rationality of the formulated processes and use the enterprise's actual business processes to test the completeness of ERP system functions and the convenience of operation.

7. Initial data import The main purpose is to collect the initial data for ERP system go-live and, under the guidance of implementation consultants, enter it into the ERP system, thus laying a solid foundation for the enterprise's formal application of the ERP system. 8. Go-live guidance The main purpose is to process the enterprise's actual business data in the ERP system. Generally, during the first one or two months after system go-live, necessary guidance should be provided in this way to prevent errors caused by enterprise personnel being unfamiliar with operations during the initial go-live period. 9. Month-end closing guidance The main purpose is that after one natural month of system application, the ERP system can generate the various reports required for enterprise management and verify the completeness of reports and the accuracy of data. At present, ERP has developed in China for many years, and most enterprises relatively accept the route of "mature packaged software + professional implementation team + appropriate personalized customized development." Among the above, enterprise ERP informatization is a long-term process. In this process, mature and complete ERP systems are the prerequisite for successful informatization, and rigorous and scientific implementation methods are the key to ensuring successful ERP go-live.
