On October 29, 2025, Guigang standard veneer products were officially listed nationwide on the Guangzhou Commodity Exchange, marking that Guigang veneer products will be sold across China and to the world. In the same year, Gangnan District hosted Guigang's forestry products industry observation and supply-demand matchmaking event as well as the 2025 International Trade Exchange and Promotion Conference for Forestry Products, further expanding sales channels for wood enterprises.

Lu Da, director of the Gangnan District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the annual output value of Gangnan District's wood industry exceeded RMB 20 billion on average. The district also has more than 200 down enterprises, processing about 100,000 tons of feathers and down annually, accounting for 28% of China's total and 18% of the global market. These two pillar industries have delivered impressive results.
Since 2021, Gangnan District has firmly adhered to the strategy of strengthening the district through industry, promoted both the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the cultivation and layout of emerging industries, accelerated the upgrading of traditional industries, and vigorously cultivated and expanded emerging industries.
In the Jiangnan Green Home Furnishing Area of Guigang Jiangnan Industrial Park, factory buildings stand one after another and large transport vehicles shuttle back and forth, creating a busy scene. In the production workshop of the Guangxi Boyite Smart Home Industrial Park project, located in Guigang Jiangnan Industrial Park, 12 automated production lines are running in an orderly manner. Rows of machines wave robotic arms to mark and cut wooden boards, while several workers monitor production data in front of electronic screens and occasionally inspect conditions on the production lines. This is a vivid example of Gangnan District promoting the transformation of the traditional wood industry from single board production to full-chain home furnishing manufacturing.

Addressing the previous weakness of the wood industry, which emphasized boards but paid less attention to finished products, Gangnan District has proactively guided enterprises to break through the limits of single board processing and expand toward the full chain of home furnishing manufacturing. Relying on Guigang Jiangnan Industrial Park and the core carrying area of Suwan New District, the district has promoted division of labor and cooperation among enterprises in the parks. Upstream enterprises focus on the production of high-quality boards, midstream enterprises develop deep processing such as lamination and edge banding, and downstream enterprises extend into high-end customized home furnishing and finished smart home product manufacturing, forming a complete industrial chain from raw materials to boards to home furnishing.
