Despite global downward pressure, Vietnam's exports of timber and wood products continued to grow. According to data from Vietnam Customs, total exports exceeded the USD 17 billion mark for the first time in 2025, reaching USD 17.2. billion, up nearly 6% from 2024 and setting a new record high.

The three "billion-dollar markets" of the United States, Japan, and China became the core pillars of Vietnam's timber exports, together accounting for 80% of total export value. In 2025, Vietnam's exports to the United States reached USD 9.46 billion, up 4.4% year on year and accounting for 55% of the industry's total exports. Exports to Japan reached USD 2.153 billion, up more than 23% year on year and surpassing USD 2. billion for the first time. Exports to China rose slightly to USD 2.086 billion, remaining above USD 2. billion for the second consecutive year.
Apart from the three core markets, Vietnam's exports of timber and wood products to other markets were relatively small in scale. In 2025, Vietnam exported USD 709 million to South Korea, USD 288 million to Canada, and USD 244 million to the United Kingdom.
