After entering the 21st century, against the backdrop of global furniture industry transfer, China's furniture industry entered a period of rapid development. This was not only an expansion in quantity but also an improvement in quality. Among urban residents in China, the ownership rate of upholstered furniture was only 6.8%, far below the average level of 72% in developed European and American countries. Industry Features

• Cyclicality: upholstered furniture is mainly used in home decoration, carries relatively high unit value, and has a relatively long service life, so its cycle is closely related to overall macroeconomic development.

• Regionality: production is mainly concentrated in five major industrial regions, namely South China centered on Guangdong and Fujian, East China centered on Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Shanghai, North China centered on Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and Shandong, Northeast China centered on Shenyang and Dalian, and Southwest China centered on Chengdu and Chongqing.

• Consumption also shows regional concentration. Demand for high-end upholstered furniture is relatively concentrated in economically developed regions such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, the Beijing-Tianjin area, and the Pearl River Delta, while purchasing power is relatively weaker in less developed areas.

• Seasonality: in the domestic market, January to March is generally the off-season, while May and September to December are peak seasons. In overseas markets, the influence of Thanksgiving and Christmas stocking makes November and December the peak season each year.
